Creative thinking means looking at something in a new way. It is the very definition of “thinking outside the box.” Often, creativity in this sense involves what is called lateral thinking, or the ability to perceive patterns that are not obvious. The fictional detective Sherlock Holmes used lateral thinking in one famous story when he realized that a dog not barking was an important clue in a murder case.

This is my Rose Fortune Teller, it’s a combination of origami “paper fortune teller” and an actual rose.
I cut off the flower and replaced it with the paper fortune teller.
The thorns on the stem represent the challenges I’ve face and yet to face throughout my life. The leaf represents the sad moments happened in my life.
I water coloured the paper (paper fortune teller) in diluted red to indicate that my life has not always been bright and colourful but i made the most out of it.
For the content of the paper fortune teller, I’ve added 4 types of my favourite things (Types of music, Types of food, Types of sport and favourite colours).
The first combination of the 4 favourite things are (food: hot dog, sport: basketball, music: electronic music, colour: light red/dark pink)
The second combination of the 4 favourite things are (food: pizza, sport: badminton, music: classical music, colour: black)
The reason I chose rose is because my mom love roses and I love my mom therefore it’s another way of expressing the idea of my mom act as the stem and I’m the flower, and the stem is supporting the flower throughout its entire life.
